So it turns out I'm getting this reading quicker thing mastered now. No really the clocks went back a hour, so therefore it is getting a lot darker quicker where I'm from that's the winter for you. So I don't go out as much, so staying in under a warm blanket and reading is the only answer too that. WOW! I said "so" too many times then. HA! Anyway welcome back to book blog posts! This review is all about, After You written by JoJo Moyes.
Here is a little welcome to all the new readers of my blog out there. If this is the first blog of mine your reading then Thank You! It means a lot to me. This part of my blog post is all about the background of the book. Which I take from the blurb, which can normally be found on the back cover of the book but sometimes it can also be found on inside cover on a hard cover book. Here we go then, " Lou Clark has lots of questions. Like how it is she's ended up working in an airport bar, spending every shift watching other people jet off to new places. Or why the flat she's owned for a year still doesn't feel like home." "Whether her close-knit family can forgive her for what she did eighteen months ago. And will she ever get over the love of her life. What Lou does know for certain is that something has to change." "Then, one night, it does. But does the stranger on her doorstep hold the answers Lou is searching for - or just more questions? Close the door and life continues: simple, ordered, safe. Open it and she risks everything. But Lou once made a promise to live. And if she's going to keep it, she has to invite them in..." A ending that's a definite page turner for you reading this. But not not too much to spoil it.
So readers I think you know what is coming next. If your new around here, this is the part where I introduce the lovely author who has spent so much of their creative energy and time to meet deadlines to you guys the readers through the power of blog posts! I know some of the readers will be like "not again!" They mostly skip this part of the blog. It's okay I give them my permission for that to happen. So here is that lovely piece of information for you readers, JoJo Moyes is a novelist and a journalist. She worked at the Independent for ten years before leaving to write full time. Me Befor You has sold over 5 million copies worldwide and went to the top of the charts in nine countries, including Germany where it held the number 1 slot for forty-six weeks. She is one of the few to have to had three novels on the New York Times bestseller list at the same time. JoJo Moyes lives in Essex, UK with her husband and their three children.
I mean where do I start with my opinion! It was one of those books when, you picked it up you knew you were going to enjoy reading it. I definitely had to read this one because I also read the first one before even watching the film adaptation. Once I started to read it I was instantly glad that Lou was still the main character and it was carrying on with her story. I couldn't put the book down. When I finally who the stranger was, who was mentioned in the blurb it was like everything clicked into place. I was happy with the way the story was progressing. I was reading each page quicker than the last. But I also felt regret because I was reading it too quick and I didn't want the story too end. I'm glad that all the issues got solved especially the main one, as it seems to be happening a lot recently. Again this book pulled on some of the heart strings. So just like the last book I hope this book gets turned into a film as well. I can definitely see why it was in the bestselling list. Fingers cross for another book! JoJo Moyes, you are killing it!!
I totally recommend this book to the readers of 16 and above. Or to anyone that loves a good read. I'm giving this book a 10/10. There was nothing wrong with it! Just the way I like it.
