Time for another blog post. As I have yet again I've finished another book. It was a great one if I do say so, but more of that later on in my opinion section. That's if you stick around that long but thank you if you do. Without sounding too repetitive I would love all my viewers to give me some sort of feedback in the comment section below and again I will thank you all. Now time for some questions, well simple questions like how was your week? How are you doing? Have you anything good planned for the week? One more thing before I carry on with the review. It's that time of the year again, so I would like to send good luck to any of my viewers who are sitting/taking their exams, you can do it. It will definitely all be worth it in the end. Anyway back to this blog post, if you have read the title of this review you may already know the name of this book. But if you haven't this review is all about Into The Water and it was written by Paula Hawkins.
Like all my other blog posts, I just take this time to welcome any new readers and thank them for choosing to read my blog posts. It really means a lot to me to have their support and to all my older readers thank you for returning to read every new blog post that I upload. I tend to follow the same structure for each blog post. For those who are new around here and didn't know. The next part of my blog post is all about the blurb. For people who don't understand the word blurb I will try to describe it in a different way. The blurb is the small passage that can summarise what the book is all about. How about that, better? Now here is a little bit, about why I put the blurb into all of my blog posts. I put the blurb into my reviews because it gives you the reader a better understanding of the book. By reading the blurb in my review it saves you from going out and then reading the blurb. What happens if the book is not your cup of tea. I can save you from all of that right now. By putting this blurb here right now you can make this decision instantly. I used the word 'right' so many times in the last couple of sentences. Wow! Most people can get addicted/hooked to any book by reading the blurb. That's what normally happens to me. The blurb can be found on the back cover of most books. But when your reading a hard cover book like this one. You can easily find the blurb on the inside of the front cover. So without further delay here is the blurb from this book: "In the last day before her death, Nel Abbott called her sister. Jules didn't pick up the phone, ignoring her plea for help. Now Nel is dead. They say she jumped. And Jules has been dragged back to the one place she hoped she had escaped for good, to care for the teenage girl her sister left behind. But Jules is afraid. So afraid. Of her long-buried memories, of the old Mill House, of knowing that Nel would never have jumped. And most of all she's afraid of the water, and the place they call the Drowning Pool..." Readers, if you have read this book and your reading this review because your waiting for my opinion. Please don't spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it yet. Also for people who take things in better by looking at a picture. A picture of the blurb can be found at the end of this passage.
This next part of my blog post is all about the author of each book I review. This time it is all about Paula Hawkins. I like to dedicate something to them. After all just think about how many days they sit away from their families in an office answering the many emails and the amount of edits they have to make. Let's not forget the amount of phone calls and meetings they have to go through. But in the end it is definitely all worth it as they have something they can be proud of. Something they can show off to everyone. A book that will be around for a long time. In the end that pressure will disappear until they decide to write another book. By dedicating this passage to them I feel I'm giving something back to them. Can you imagine a world without books, it's a reality that us bookworms don't want. So without further delay here I am introducing to you Paula Hawkins. Paula Hawkins worked as a journalist for fifteen years before turning her hand to fiction. She is the author of The Girl on the Train and Into The Water (the book I'm reviewing). An international #1 bestseller, The Girl on the Train was published in 50 countries and over 40 languages. It has sold over 18 million copies worldwide and has been adapted into a major motion picture. Paula Hawkins was born in Zimbabwe and now lives in London UK.
It is now time to give my opinion. So the bit you've all been waiting for has finally arrived. I've had the due date for when the book was going to be released written down for a while, because I just loved the other book so much. When the book finally came out and I got my hands on a copy. My first thought was I hope this book is just as good as the last one. Don't ask me why I thought that . I can't give you an answer to that one. In other words I wish I didn't think that because it's totally a different book and should not be compared to any other books that Paula Hawkins writes. From the moment that I read the first couple of pages I knew it was going to be a really good book. I found myself reading it at any opportunity I could get. In other words I was totally hooked from the get go. I hardly put the book down. This book definitely made you you think, especially what it was like for women back in the day. This book was jammed packed with twists and turns which kept me the reader and many readers to come in full suspension. The only thing I sometimes got confused with is who's chapter I was on. So I had to keep on referring to the beginning of each chapter to see what the name it was. But in the end I got used to it and it was really needed in the book to get the different points of view across. All of the book was written beautifully. It was so easy to follow the storyline. I was not expecting it to be who it was at the end, don't worry no spoilers here. I finished this book within a week of starting it and I loved every moment of it. I can't wait to see what Paula writes next and in the future and I can't wait to read it. I just hope this one gets made into a movie as well. *high five* Paula, it was a awesome book.
Overall I would definitely give this book a 10/10 and would love to recommend this book to anyone who loves a really good book and is over the age of 16. You can find all my other blog posts at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.co.uk where you can follow me or leave me some questions of you want. Thank you for your continued support. It totally means a lot. I hope you come back for more of my blog posts in the future!!
Until my next book review x
