Book Review: According to YES

Hey,
Welcome back to another review of mine. I thought as it is the festive season I would deliver another review too you guys. The readers. A few questions about Christmas, Do you celebrate Christmas where you live? How do you like to celebrate your Christmas? Last but not least, Have you finished your Christmas shopping? It's hard to believe that some people actually leave all their shopping till Christmas Eve! If you wish to actually answer some of the questions. Leave your answers in the comment box below. Anyway back to the review. This review is all about According to Yes by the great Dawn French!
To get the new readers into my blog even more. This is the part of my blog where I put the blurb from the back of the book into my review. The word blurb is just another way of mentioning the passage on the back of the book. Also to all the new readers thank you for choosing my blog to read. I hope you enjoy the blogs that I upload in the future as well. So too stop me from rambling on here, here is the blurb of the book. "The Foreign Land of the Very Wealthy, otherwise known as Manhattan's Upper East Side, has its own rigid code of behaviour. It's a code strictly adhered to by the Wilder-Bingham family. "This is Glenn Wilder-Bingham's Kingdom. A beautifully displayed, impeccably edited fortress of restraint. So when Rosie Kitto, an eccentric thirty-eight-year-old primary school teacher from England, bounces into their lives with a secret sorrow and a heart as big as the city, nobody realises she hasn't read the rule book." "For the Wilder-Bingham family, whose lives begin to unravel thread by thread, the consequences are explosive. Because after a lifetime of saying no, what happens when everyone starts saying...yes?" So what do you think? But if you have already read this book. Please don't give any spoilers to anybody. Here is a picture of the back cover if you wish to look at that, as I wanted to add more pictures into my blog.

The next part of my blog is the part that most readers of my blog don't read. They just skip it. What I'm talking about is that this paragraph is all about the author who wrote the book. People should appreciate this part more. My mind instantly thinks about the author, who spent so many hours over a computer or even handwriting their notes, hoping for the best possible outcome. So if you do skip this part just think about them the next time you do it. The author of this book is none other than Dawn French. Here is some information on Dawn. Dawn French was born in Holyhead, Anglesey, Wales. She was educated at the independent St Dunstan's Abbey School which is now part of Plymouth College. Dawn French is an English actress, writer, and comedian best known for starring in and writing for the comedy sketch show Fench and Saunders and for playing the lead role as Geraldine Granger in the sitcom The Vicar of Dibley. Dawn French has been nominated for seven British Academy Television Awards she has also won a BAFTA Fellowship with Jennifer Saunders.
Now it's time to give my opinion about the book. But it is always the same, where do I start... I throughly enjoyed this book. From the moment I picked it up and I started to read it, I knew it was going to be great. I enjoyed the length of each chapter. The chapters weren't too long therefore I didn't lose my attention whilst reading the book. I hardly put the book down. As I got too the bottom of each I instantly began to wonder what was going to happen next. Sometimes I could even imagine reading the book in Dawn French's voice. All you need sometimes is a book that makes you laugh out loud it definitely makes you feel better. This book is perfect for that. Dawn French is such a great writer, I can't wait to read some more of her books if they are all like this one. The only thing I would change about the book without giving it away would be if all the answers came out before the book ended.
I would give this book a 8/10 for being a overall well written book. I would recommend this book to older readers that are 18 and above as there are some parts of the book that are not suitable for younger readers. If you wish you can read all my other blogs at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com You can also follow my blog or even leave questions while your reading them. Thank you again for reading these blog posts.
Until my next book review x

Book Review: Die Again

Hey,
Soooo it's just been over a month since my last book review. I apologise for that as I also said that I would try to upload more book reviews than twice a month. Anyway December is always a busy month for most people. Family to see and gifts to buy. I'm glad to be back writing my book reviews, as I have just finished this great book. One last thing, how are you, my lovely readers? So this book review is all about Die Again written by Tess Gerritsen
I would just like to say welcome to new readers and thank you for choosing my blog to read. This is the part of my blog where I let you, the reader read more of the background of the story. The next part of this blog will be taken from the blurb. One question I would like to ask, Would you the reader, like more pictures of the book? Here you go the blurb, "Six years ago, a group of travellers set off on an African Safari. Only one woman returned. The only woman to have seen the killer's face. "In Boston, Detective Jane Rizzoli and Forensic Pathologist Maura Isles are investigating a bizarre murder. When another victim is discovered, it is clear that this murderer has been at work for years- and not just locally." "Has the 'safari killer' resurfaced in Boston? There is one survivor who can help Rizzoli. But only if she can convince her to face death once again...." So what do you think? Remember there are no spoilers, so if you have already read the book don't give it away to other readers.
The next part of my blog is where I introduce the great author of this well written book, to you my lovely readers. Most people don't even think about the authors or even the amount of time it takes to actually write a book. I bet most people think that this part of my blog is the boring and they skip straight to the opinion part of my blog. I will now dedicate this certain part of my blog to each author. So here we go here is a bit about the author. Bestselling author Tess Gerritsen is also a physician, and she brings to her novels her first- hand knowledge of emergency and autopsy rooms. Her thrillers starring homicide detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles inspired the hit TV series Rizzoli & Isles. But Tess's interests span far more than medicine and crime. As an anthropology student at Stanford University, she catalogued centuries-old human remains, and she continues to travel the world, driven by her fascination with ancient cultures and bizarre natural phenomena. She lives with her husband in Maine.
Where do I start with this book. I never judge a book by its cover but I think that's a good place to start. What grabbed my attention was the sad look on the girl and the dark silhouette standing beside her. It definitely sends a shiver down my spine. I was hooked from the very beginning of the book. I could hardly put the book down. It kept me wanting more at the end of each page. The book is definitely full of suspense to keep your mind jogging. It is a crime fiction readers dream. If I could of had the chance to read the book in one straight day I would have done it. I have to say the book was structured very well it didn't give anything away even with all the clues we had throughout the book. When I came to the end of the book I didn't want it too end. I had wished I read it slower. Can't wait to read the next Tess Gerritsen book. Excellent job on Die Again.
I would give this book a 9/10. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good crime fiction novel or just loves to read in general and who are 18 and over. You can find all my other blogs at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com Where you can stay updated, follow or even leave a comment if you wish. Thank you for reading my blog posts. It means so much.
Until my next book review x

Book Review: Little Girl Gone

Hey,
Well here we are again. The winter has definitely arrived. That means that the cosy nights in with a new book have also arrived and I love that! I'm going to ask one simple question. Anybody actually enjoy reading these blogs? Because I enjoy making them and that's all that matters. Anyway enough about me, How are you lot? I know that are many bugs (it's a term used for illnesses) out there. So stay inside in the warm and drink plenty of liquids. Back to this review, this one is all about Little Girl Gone written by Alexandra Burt.
Welcome to all of my new readers. Also too all my frequent readers thank you for your continued support. Also thank you for choosing to read my blogs it means a lot. I really do appreciate it. This part of my blog, is the background of the story. I take this part from the blurb which can be found on the back of the book. It is also what many people read before they buy a book. Sorry just one more question I promise. Do you prefer to read the blurb or when people use their memory in a book review? Anyway back to the blurb. "A baby goes missing goes missing. But does her mother want her back?" "When Estelle's baby daughter is taken from her cot, she doesn't report her missing. Days later, Estelle is found in a wrecked car with a wound to the head and no memory." "Estelle knows she holds the key to what happened that night- but what she doesn't know is whether she was responsible..." The ending of the blurb just makes you want to do the whole dun dun da!! thing. Anyway I think that's the perfect amount, so it makes you hungry for more. If you do read it remember no spoilers for other readers.
This part of my blog, is where I mention the great and talented author who wrote the book. I still don't believe that many people read this part of my blog and they just skip straight to the opinion part. It's okay go ahead if your not interested I give you my permission to skip it! But for those who are new around here or if you do actually enjoy this part of my blog. Here we go, here is that information. Alexandra was born in Germany. After her college graduation she moved to Texas and, while pursuing literary translations, she decided to tell her own stories. After three years of writing classes her short fiction appeared in Freedom Fiction Journal, All Things Girl, MUSED Literary Review, and Heater Crime Fiction Magazine. Alexandra is a member of Sisters In Crime, an organisation promoting the advancement, recognition and professional development of women crime writers. She lives in Texas with her husband, her daughter and two Labradors. Little Girl Gone is her first novel. This brings me on to the next part of my blog.
It is now time to give my opinion on this great book. Where do I start. I guess the beginning is a good place right? From the moment I read the first couple of pages I was hooked. I couldn't put the book down I was so gripped. I don't think I left the book for more than a hour, when I had to go somewhere. I also thought the book was carefully planned out so you could follow the story more easily. The end of each page made you want to read the next page even quicker than the last one. But halfway through the book I took a disinterest to the book. It just felt like the story was not going anywhere. But that didn't put me off or make me stop reading the book altogether. When the story got back on track I finished it within the next three days, as I wanted to find out what was going to happen to the characters. I also didn't want the book to finish. It was definitely full of twists and suspense. Perfect for a crime fiction novel. The characters were also well written and you were able to understand everything that was wrote about them. I was so gripped, I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. Congratulations on your first book Alexandra Burt!!
Overall, I give this book a 8/10. I also recommend this book to people who love a good crime fiction novel and to people who are 16 and over. You can follow and read all my blogs at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com If you want you can also leave questions in the comment box below. Thank you again for reading these blogs.

Book Review: After You

Hey,
So it turns out I'm getting this reading quicker thing mastered now. No really the clocks went back a hour, so therefore it is getting a lot darker quicker where I'm from that's the winter for you. So I don't go out as much, so staying in under a warm blanket and reading is the only answer too that. WOW! I said "so" too many times then. HA! Anyway welcome back to book blog posts! This review is all about, After You written by JoJo Moyes.
Here is a little welcome to all the new readers of my blog out there. If this is the first blog of mine your reading then Thank You! It means a lot to me. This part of my blog post is all about the background of the book. Which I take from the blurb, which can normally be found on the back cover of the book but sometimes it can also be found on inside cover on a hard cover book. Here we go then, " Lou Clark has lots of questions. Like how it is she's ended up working in an airport bar, spending every shift watching other people jet off to new places. Or why the flat she's owned for a year still doesn't feel like home." "Whether her close-knit family can forgive her for what she did eighteen months ago. And will she ever get over the love of her life. What Lou does know for certain is that something has to change." "Then, one night, it does. But does the stranger on her doorstep hold the answers Lou is searching for - or just more questions? Close the door and life continues: simple, ordered, safe. Open it and she risks everything. But Lou once made a promise to live. And if she's going to keep it, she has to invite them in..." A ending that's a definite page turner for you reading this. But not not too much to spoil it.
So readers I think you know what is coming next. If your new around here, this is the part where I introduce the lovely author who has spent so much of their creative energy and time to meet deadlines to you guys the readers through the power of blog posts! I know some of the readers will be like "not again!" They mostly skip this part of the blog. It's okay I give them my permission for that to happen. So here is that lovely piece of information for you readers, JoJo Moyes is a novelist and a journalist. She worked at the Independent for ten years before leaving to write full time. Her previous novels have all been critically acclaimed and include Me Before You, The Girl You Left Behind and the Sunday Times number 1 bestseller The One Plus One. Me Befor You has sold over 5 million copies worldwide and went to the top of the charts in nine countries, including Germany where it held the number 1 slot for forty-six weeks. She is one of the few to have to had three novels on the New York Times bestseller list at the same time. JoJo Moyes lives in Essex, UK with her husband and their three children.
I mean where do I start with my opinion! It was one of those books when, you picked it up you knew you were going to enjoy reading it. I definitely had to read this one because I also read the first one before even watching the film adaptation. Once I started to read it I was instantly glad that Lou was still the main character and it was carrying on with her story. I couldn't put the book down. When I finally who the stranger was, who was mentioned in the blurb it was like everything clicked into place. I was happy with the way the story was progressing. I was reading each page quicker than the last. But I also felt regret because I was reading it too quick and I didn't want the story too end. I'm glad that all the issues got solved especially the main one, as it seems to be happening a lot recently. Again this book pulled on some of the heart strings. So just like the last book I hope this book gets turned into a film as well. I can definitely see why it was in the bestselling list. Fingers cross for another book! JoJo Moyes, you are killing it!!
I totally recommend this book to the readers of 16 and above. Or to anyone that loves a good read. I'm giving this book a 10/10. There was nothing wrong with it! Just the way I like it. You can read my other blogs, follow me or leave your comments and questions at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com I look forward to hearing from you. Again THANK YOU for reading my blog posts!
Until my next book review x

Book Review: Devil Bones

Hey,
Here we are again. So a brand new month brings a brand new book and review. This review is a bit later than I expected it too be. By the way, I hope everyone is happy and healthy as there are a lot of germs going around this time of the year. Anyone got any good plans coming up over the next couple or even over Christmas? Right, back to this blog post. This review is all about, Devil Bones which is written by Kathy Reichs.
If your new around here, then welcome to my book blog. Let me tell you a bit about why I like to write thes blogs, I've always liked reading, you could call me a massive bookworm. But when you find out that not many young people are reDing enough it hurts. So my aim is too spread the books I read so that they reach other people. I hope these people will then pick up more books and spend less time on their phones. I want the younger generation to start reading again.
Next in my book blog post is to tell you a bit more about the book because how would you know if you like the sound of it. My information is taken from the back of the book also known as the blurb. Well here you go, "An underground chamber is exposed in a seedy, dilapidated house. In the the dark cellar, a ritualistic display is revealed: a human skull rests on a cauldron, surrounded by slain chickens and bizarre figurines." "Called to the scene is forensic anthropologist, Dr Temperance Brennan. She determines that the skull is that of a young, female. But how and when did she die? Just as Tempe is closing in on answers, another body is discovered: a headless corpse carved with Satanic symbols." "As local vigilantes begin a witch-hunt, Tempe struggles to contain her emotions. But the eventual truth proves more shocking than even she could have imagined." Sorry that's all you getting, remember no spoilers. I just hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I'm sorry to say. but the boring part of my blog is next. Time to introduce the author of this book, to you the lovely readers of this book. I know some of you skip this part. That's fine I give you my permission to do that. But by all means if you do enjoy this part of the blog post. Then carry on reading it. Anyway here is that vital information that you want. Kathy Reichs has many to her name including Bones of the Lost, Bones are Forever and 206 Bones. Kathy Reichs is one of only eighty-two forensic anthropologists ever certified by the American Board of Forensic Anthropology. Kathy Reichs is a native of Chicago, where she received her Ph.D. Kathy now spends most of her time between Charlotte, North Carolina and Montreal, Québec.
Some of you may be thinking, How come you picked this book to read? Well I have read many other Kathy Reichs books in the past so I thought I may as well give this one a go. But I wasn't too sure at first about the mention of Devils, witch hunts and Satanic Symbols. But it wasn't that bad. At first I found myself putting the book down for a few hours or sometimes I forgot I was reading it altogether. But after some important answers got revealed. I couldn't put the book down. I was reading each page as fast as my eyes would let me. As I wanted to solve the mystery just as quick as the characters in the book were trying too. What I love about Kathy Reichs books is that she uses all the terms a forensic anthropologist should use which means you are learning new words but she also fully explains what they mean to the reader just in case they don't understand. In the end, I wasn't expecting the ending that I read. I can't wait to read more of her books.
Overall, I would give this book a 8/10. I would totally recommend this book to the audience of 18 and above, also to anyone who loves a good crime fiction novel in that age range. If you wish to follow me, leave questions for me or read my other blogs you can find them here laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com Thank you for reading these blog posts and your continued support.

Book Review: The Cinderella Murder

Hey,
I know it has almost been a month, since my last book blog post. For that I apologise but I do have some excuses for not reading a lot this month. As I have been busy doing other tasks also I have been celebrating my birthday. Anyway back to introducing this blog posts book. The book I'm reviewing is called The Cinderella Murder wrote by two people, Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke.
I would just like to welcome back the older readers and welcome to all the new readers to this blog. I would like to ask all you lovely readers in simple question. Once you've read this great book review would you either please give it a like or even share with your friends or even your family members if you wanted too. Now it is time to dive into the book with a bit more detail. Which is taken from the back of the book also known as the blurb. "Television producer Laurie Moran is delighted when the pilot for her reality drama. Under Suspicion is a success. A cold case series that revisits unsolved crimes by recreating them with those affected, it helped solve an infamous murder in the very first episode." "Now Laurie has the ideal case for the next episode: the Cinderella Murder. When Susan Dempsey, a Californian university student, was found dead, her murder raised numerous questions." "With the helped of lawyer and Under Suspicion host Alex Buckley, Laurie knows the case will attract great ratings, especially when the former suspects include Hollywood's elite and tech billionaires. But is Cinderella's murderer ready for a close-up?" Well lovely readers that is your lot for this book. Remember no spoilers.
Readers, it is time to introduce the great authors who wrote this book, I know most people don't really read this part of my blog post. But if you do let me know in the comment box below on the blog. Here we go, Mary Higgins Clark, number one international and New York Times bestselling author, has written thirty-four suspense novels; three collections of short stories; a historical novel, Mount Vernon Love Story; two children's books, including The Magical Christmas Horse; and a memoir, Kitchen Privileges. With her daughter Carol Higgins Clark, she has coauthored five more suspense novels. Her books have sold more than 100 million copies in the United States alone. The other author is Alafair Burke. Alafair Burke is the New York Times bestselling author of eleven novels, including Long Gone, If You Were Here and the latest in the Ellie Hatcher series, All Day and a Night. A former prosecutor, she now teaches criminal law and lives in Manhattan.
Now it is time for the most important part of the book blog post, the opinion. So where do I start? I guess the front cover, the title grabbed my attention first and when I eventually took a look at the cover. It made me feel all creepy with the fog and the black silhouette standing alone. Once I started reading the book I fell in love with it as I could tell the way the plot line was heading. A few chapters in, the book skipped and it did a massive time jump which left me confused. As the new chapters started with completely new characters. I found myself putting the book down as the mystery wasn't getting my heart-racing like some other books. Sometimes I even wished it would just got straight to the point. But once you start reading a crime novel you have to finish it too find out who had done it. When it got to the middle of the book, it was like the book changed and the plot line picked up. From the middle of the book, I finished the book in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. When I got to the end of the book I didn't suspect the person who committed the crime at all throughout the book. It was definitely a eye-opener, on how quickly things can change and how quickly the truth comes out. Can't wait to read what happens next.
I would recommend this book to the adults so from 18 and above as there are some things in this book that younger readers shouldn't read. To all the crimes readers out there, give this one a go. I would give this book a 8/10. You can find my other blog posts at this place laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.co.uk You can also follow me at the same place so you can stay updated every time I upload a new blog. If you want too you can send me questions to the comment box below and I shall answer them. Thank you for continued support and taking your time out to read these blog posts.

Book Review: After The Crash

Hey,
Here we again, a new month a new review from me. There are only a certain amount of ways you can start a new book blog post. After that they just become more reparative. For that I'm sorry, anyway back to this book blog post. This post is all about, After The Crash by Michel Bussi.
So welcome to all my new readers. If you haven't read any of my other blog posts don't worry. The reason why I write these blogs, is too spread my favourite reads and bestsellers with you. So you can go out and buy them yourselves and enjoy them just as much as I did. Readers, if you didn't read my last book blog post which was, The Kind Worth Killing. Then you won't know that I made some changes too my post. I put the book description before I introduced the author too you the readers I'm about to do the same thing in this blog post. In other words here is the book description it is taken from the back of the book also known as the blurb. "On the night of 22 December, a plane crashes on the Franco-Swiss Border." "All the passengers are killed instantly, apart from one miraculous survivor- a three month old baby girl. But who is she?" "Two families step forward to claim her, but is she Lyse-Rose or Emilie?" "Two decades later, on the eve of her eighteenth birthday, the detective who investigated the case makes a discovery that could change everything..." That is the end of the description, anymore and it would spoil the book. Nobody would buy it and that's not good.
Now it is time to introduce the author too you the readers of this book blog post here we go, Michel Bussi is one of France's most celebrated crime authors. He is the winner of more than 15 major literary awards. Michel Bussi is a professor of geography at the University of Rouen and a political commentator. This book After The Crash is his first book to appear in English. It will also be translated into over twenty languages (I bet most people won't read this paragraph)
I guess it is time, for the most important part of a book review it is the opinion. So here it is. Where do I start... The beginning of the book definitely takes a giant leap and gets straight to the point. But when it jumps forward the eighteen years. It feels like it has taken a giant leap backwards. I felt like the book was like a wind-up toy as it took more time to get me more excited about the book again. It was a very slowed paced beginning. I was putting the book down more than picking it up. When I eventually got to the halfway point it felt like a totally different book. As the pace picked up and I couldn't put the book down any longer. I kept reading it faster as I wanted to turn each page quicker, because I wanted to know what the end was going to be like and to see if they solved the mystery. Overall it was a well written mystery and I can't wait to see what this person writes next.
I would totally give this book a 7/10. I would also recommend this book to the older audience as there is a lot of use of strong language and that would be inappropriate for younger readers. If you wish to stay updated on my blogs and when I upload a new book blog post please give me a follow. You can also read my other posts at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.co.uk Thank you for always choosing my blogs to read. It totally means a lot.
Until my next book review x

Book Review: The Kind Worth Killing

Hey,
This review is a little later, than I expected. For that I'm sorry. Welcome back to a new blog post by me. Instead of writing out the questions from my last blog post again. Can all you lovely readers, please go and read them and leave some answers in the comment box below. It would make me happy. I would really appreciate it. Anyway back to this book blog post. This review is all about The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson.
I'm going to change this blog post a little. By putting the bit about the story first and then I will introduce the author after this piece. Let me know if you like this change and whether or not, I should do more of them in the future. So here is a bit of the blurb, that can be found at the back of all books. If your interested in knowing that. "When his flight gets delayed Ted Severson meets Lily, a magnetic stranger, in the airport bar." "In the netherworld of international travel and too many martinis, he confesses his darkest secrets, about his wife's infidelity and how he wishes her dead." "Without missing a beat she offers to help him carry out the task..." I think that is the perfect amount for you the reader to read. If that doesn't make you go out and buy the book I don't know what will.
Know it's time to introduce you, the readers to the talented author who wrote this book. I totally get if you don't want to read this part of the blog and you skip straight to part with my opinion. Here we go, anyway Peter Swanson is the author of three novels: The Girl With a Clock For a Heart, this book which is a LA Times Book Award finalist. This book The Kind Worth Killing is the winner of the New England Society book Award and finalist for the CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger; and his most recent, Her Every Fear. His books have been translated into 30 languages, and his stories, poetry, and features have appeared in The Atlantic Monthly, The Guardin and Yankee Magazine just to name a few. Peter Swanson is a graduate of Trinity College, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and Emerson College. He lives in Somerville, Massachusetts with his wife and cat.
The past couple of books I've read recently were all really good. But I think this one has just pushed passed all of these and has come out on top. I'm going to start with the front cover. Whenever I walked past this book when it was on the bookshelf it always made me pick it up and turn it over so I could read the blurb. The large writing and the dark silhouettes of the two people is the reason of how I got into the book. From that moment I was hooked and I couldn't put it down. Each page my imagination was developing further. This book is the perfect thriller it has more twists and turns than a roller coaster at a theme park. It also made me like plot twists, as it had me turning each page faster. The development of all the characters is well written, especially the two main female characters Miranda and Lily my perception of these two women kept changing as I got further into the book. The pace of the story was out of this world. As I got to the end of the book I didn't want it too end. I especially didn't expect the cliffhanger at the end. I just hope there is another book to follow this one. If all of his books are like this I can't wait to find more and read them.
I would totally recommend this book to anyone 18 and above as there are many strong scenes and strong language throughout. Overall I would give this book a 10/10 or five stars. If you wish to find my other blog posts you can find them at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com where you can follow me and you can stay updated on whenever I upload a new blog post. Thank you for reading these blog posts!!

Book Review: Me Before You

Hey,
Welcome back to all my lovely readers. So it is a new month, so new book reviews to read! First to all my readers, can you please give me some feedback please. I would really appreciate it whether it be on the reviews itself or it's on the type of books I read. If I receive the feedback I can put it into good use adapt the changes and put them into my reviews to make them better for your viewing. Anyway back to the review, the review is all about Me Before You by JoJo Moyes.
My lovely readers will definitely know what happens next. Thank you for your constant support. To all my new readers who are reading these reviews. This is the part of the review where I introduce the author of the book to you the reader. If you're not interested you can skip this part I don't mind. The author of this book is JoJo Moyes is a novelist and a journalist. She worked at the independent for ten years before leaving to write full time. This book has sold over five million copies worldwide and went to the top of the charts in nine countries. JoJo Moyes is one of the few authors to have had three novels on the New York Times Bestseller list at the same time. There is a film adaptation of this book out now. JoJo Moyes lives in Essex U.K. with her husband with their three children.
The next part of my book blog post is all about knowing what the book is actually about. So this means that I get to tell you a bit about the book with the help of the blurb. It's only going to be a small amount though. Here we go, "Lou Clark knows lots of things. But what she doesn't know is that she is about to lose her job or that knowing what's coming is what keeps her sane." "Will Traynor knows his motorcycle accident took away his desire to live." "What Will doesn't know is that Lou is about to burst into his world in a riot of colour. And  neither of them knows they're going to change the other for all time." See I said they were only going to be small parts of information as there is nothing worse than someone spoiling a good book. I hate that!!
Where do I start? I knew a lot of people were saying that they enjoyed reading this book. So I went out and bought it for myself and boy, they were not wrong. Normally I don't like a prologue as it sometimes gives away what is going to happen next. But in case I thought it was the right thing to do as it instantly made you want to turn to the next page as soon as possible. Once I read that first chapter I was hooked. As soon as the plot of story got revealed, I definitely felt some of the old heart strings going. But when I read about the plot I just wanted to keep on reading and couldn't put it down even though I didn't want it to end. I especially loved the way that JoJo Moyes wrote the characters. Mainly Lou and Will though. Lou reminds me of me sometimes always being pushed to achieve my goal. This book is a eye-opener into the lives of a person who doesn't have a able body and how they feel. Made me more thankful for the life I have. Overall JoJo I'm glad that I read this book and I can't wait to read the sequel.
I would totally recommend this book to the audience of 16 and above. To the people who enjoy a good romantic story or a little cry go out and buy this book. You won't regret it at all. I will give this book a solid 10/10 in other words a five out of five stars. If you wish to read my other blogs you can find them at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com Also you can follow my blog to stay updated on when I upload a new book review . Book Review: The Ice Twins

Hey,
Welcome back to another book blog post by myself. If your new here, also welcome! Thank you, for picking my blog posts to read. Let me also apologise for not getting this review out sooner. I've not been reading as much as I would of liked too. As I have been busy doing other tasks. But it is here now and that is all that matters. So this book review is all about, The Ice Twins written by S.K.Tremayne.
This is the part of my blog post, where I share with my lovely readers. Here. Is some more information about the author of the book. Like I've told many readers before if you don't like this part of my blog or you don't have a interest in this part. You can skip it. I give you my permission. But I won't be a bit surprised if most people just skip parts and head straight to the opinion part of my book blog posts. Right lets get to the part about the author. S.K.Tremayne is a bestselling novelist and award- winning travel writer and a regular contributor to newspapers and magazines around the world. The book was picked for the Richard and Judy Autumn 2015 Book Club. (They are a famous couple from the UK) It was a Sunday Times No. 1 bestseller. Born in Devon U.K. S.K.Tremayne now lives in London UK and has two daughters. This author writes under a pseudonym this means the author uses a fictitious name. This is one of his/her fictitious names. Bonus points if you can find his/her other fictitious name/real name. Leave the answers in the comment box.
Now onto the next part of my blog post. This is the part of the blog post where I let my readers dive into the book a little deeper. I will share some of the background story. It helps readers know whether or not, they like the sound of the book. To buy or not to buy, in other words. So here we go, "After one of their identical twin daughters, Lydia, dies in an accident, Angus and Sarah." "But when their surviving child, Kirstie, claims they have mistaken her identity- that she, in fact, is Lydia- their world comes crashing down." I'm not telling or should I say write anymore. Giving too much away spoils the book. Nobody likes that.
WOW! I mean where do I start. This part is all based on my opinion of the book. So here we go. First I never judge a book by its cover. But that's what grabbed my attention first. I especially liked the design. When I read the first page, I was hooked. Every time I began a new page I wanted to finish it faster whilst taking everything in. I enjoyed how this book had pictures throughout the book. If you imagined the places in the book. You could see what it actually looked like. When I put the book down and walked away from it. I couldn't wait to get to a comfortable place, so I could pick it back up and read it. I would call this book a real roller coaster of a journey. It's a real thriller and full of suspense to the very end I didn't expect the ending of the book and if all of this persons books end up like this. I can't wait for the next one.
I would recommend this book to the older audience of 18 and above as it is a adult fiction book. As there are many strong themes and strong use of language. I would give this book a 9/10. If you wish to read any of my other blogs you can find them here laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com You can also leave questions below. I will try to answer them. Also you can follow my blog to stay updated on whenever I upload a new blog. Thank you for reading these blogs...again.

Book Review: Everything Everything

Hey,
Another book finished. I start a new review. I am going to start this review a bit different. I'm going to ask some questions I doubt anyone will reply to them. 1. Are you enjoying these blog posts? 2. Is there more of a certain book type you want me to review? What type? 3. Finally, what is your preferred blog post length, straight to the point or long and a bit a ramble? If you do decide to answer these questions. Leave the answers in the comment section of this blog post. I will try my best to reply to all the answers. I don't bite, I promise. Anyway back to the review. The book I'm reviewing this time is Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon.
Sometimes readers like to know more about the author. Well this is that very part. This is all the information that you need to know. Here we go, Nicola Yoon grew up in Jamaica and Brooklyn which is part of Long Island, U.S.A. Nicola currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter. Everything Everything is her first novel. David Yoon is Nicola's husband he is a writer and a designer. David created the illustrations for this book.
I like to give many of readers snip bits of all the books I review. This part of my review is still going to be the same as always. So here is what the blurb from the back of the book says, "Maddy is allergic to the world. She hasn't left her house in seventeen years." "Olly is the boy next door. He's determined to find a way to reach her." Just two little bits this time I'm afraid. As nobody likes to have massive spoilers on the book. That would result in no one buying the book and that wouldn't be good for the author.
I think that most people like other people's opinions/reviews on things. So here is mine. Where do I start? Maybe the front cover is a good place to start. There are many reasons why this book grabbed my attention. The main thing though is the splash of colour that makes your eyes turn away from other books. For that reason I would buy this book alone. Onto the book itself, I knew when I started it, it was going to be a good book I mean who doesn't enjoy a young-adult book every now and again. I enjoyed the shortness of some chapters as it kept my attention for longer. Which kept me reading for longer. This leads me on to say that I could not put the book down that's how I finished this book in one sitting. I was enjoying Maddy and Olly's adventure too much. I tried to finish each page faster than the last. I wanted to stay up to speed with what was going on. I didn't want the book to end though. I liked the way that Nicola wrote the characters and how she wrote the many major topics that are happening daly around the around the world. Through the characters and how they dealt with the situation. It tells us that nobody is ever on their own. So just like Maddy I could re-read this book over and over and never get bored. As this is her fist novel, I can't wait to read what she writes in the future.
I would recommend this book to anyone aged 16 and over as there is some swearing throughout this book. I would give this book a solid 10/10. It was a great read. If you wish to stay updated on when I post a new blog post please feel free to follow my blog. Book Review: The Well

Hey,
To all my lovely readers. So it is a new month. A new month brings many new things. For an example new readers and some more book blog posts. Like this one, this review is all about The Well by Catherine Chanter. So sit back and enjoy this brand new book blog post.
I'm sure by know most people/readers know what happens at this part. This is for all the new readers. This next paragraph is dedicated to the author who wrote the book I'm reviewing. If you don't want to know more about the author. I give you the reader permission to skip to the next part. But If you do want to know. Here is the information you want, Catherine Chanter was born and raised in the West Country. For people who don't know that's the west of the UK. Catherine has a Masters with distinction, in Creative Writing from Oxford Brookes University. Catherine has won many awards including Huffington Post One to Watch in 2015. The Well is her first novel.
For most people, they like to read the back of the book in other words the blurb. This part of my book review. Where I like to tell the reader some more information or background story of the book. So that they know what they are buying into. This is what you need to know "When Ruth Ardingly and her family first drive up from London in their grime - encrusted car and view The Well, they are enchanted by a jewel of a place, a farm that appears to offer everything the family are searching for. An opportunity for Ruth. An escape for Mark. A home for their grandson Lucien." "As The Well envelops them, Ruth's paradise becomes a prison, Mark's dream a recurring nightmare and Lucien's playground a grave." That's all I'm giving you, my readers as people don't like big spoilers. As then you don't have a reason to buy the book as you know what's going to happen throughout the book. That is not fun.
After reading all that information. It's time to give my opinion on this book. When I first saw the book I was drawn in by the cover, as it gives you that mystery feeling and you want to know more. Well done to whoever designed it. I eventually sat down to read this book. I took my time reading the first couple of chapters. I enjoyed the first chapter as it set the scene. But as I got further into the book it lost me a little more each time. I found myself re-reading sentences. I felt more confused each time I re-read the sentence. Maybe if the font size inside the book was a bit bigger. When the book picked up the pace I found myself reading the book more often and finishing each page quicker. I wanted to know what was lying in the next chapter. When I got towards the end of the book I didn't expect that ending and the events that lead up to it. That changed my opinion on the book. It was great even if it did take me a bit longer to read than my other books. Can't wait to see what she writes next.
I would give this book a 7/10. I would also recommend this book to older readers. As it is classed as adult fiction and has some swear words on the inside. If you wish to read the many other blog posts, I have done. You can read them at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com You can also follow me to stay updated on when I write new blog posts. Leave me questions to answer that's if you want too. Thank you for reading this blog post.

Book Review: On The Other Side

Hey,
To all my frequent readers. Welcome to my fellow new readers. This is my book blog, where I like to review the many books that I have read. This is where I like to dive into the book a little deeper. The book that I'm reviewing this time if you can't already tell by the title of this blog post is on the other side by Carrie Hope Fletcher.
Before I dive to deep into sharing this story. I like to give my readers a bit more information about the author, Carrie Fletcher. So here we go, Carrie Fletcher is an actress, singer and vlogger. Carrie's YouTube channel is called ItsWayPastMyBedTime if any of you would like to watch her videos. Therefore you can get to know her a bit better. Carrie is currently starring in the UK tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as Truly Scrumptious. Carrie Fletcher is the sister of the much-loved Tom Fletcher and sister-in-law to the also fab, Giovanna Fletcher. Carrie lives just outside London UK with numerous fictional friends that she keeps on bookshelves just in case.
I'm sure most of you are used to the normal structure of my book blog posts. But just in case you don't, or its your first time reading these blog posts (welcome!)  this is where I like to tell the reader, reading this post. A bit of the background story. Who is ready for this part? Let me make you start this great adventure. " Evie Snow is eighty-two when she quietly passes away in her sleep." "Evie reaches the door of her own private heaven and the door won't open." "Evie's soul must be light enough to pass through so she she needs to get rid of whatever is making her soul heavy." "For Evie, this means unburdening herself of the three secrets which have weighed her down for over fifty years." I'm afraid that is all your getting because nobody likes a person who spoils everything. It's just not that fun and it would mean less of a adventure.
In all reviews, whether they be a long or short review you have to give your opinion on the thing that you are reviewing. It's a fact! So here is my overall opinion of this exceptional book. My first thought was how am I going to like this type of book as I haven't read anything like this before. But soon as I got more into the book, I stopped thinking about that initial thought. As I was enjoying it so much. I loved how Carrie give each character a unique name. I then found myself asking how did she come up with all these different names. That made you smile each time you saw one. I couldn't stop reading this book in other words I couldn't put it down as the end of each page got me hooked as the book went on. I didn't want it to end. I felt so much emotion towards  the romantic parts the loved and even towards the sad/happy parts. I admit I had a little cry. I hope my life turns out like theirs. Happy families (even if they are are fictional characters) this is Carrie's first fiction novel as this one was so good, I can't wait for the others. Even if I do do have a lot questions about this one. Congratulations Carrie for this amazing book!!
As you can already guess from the amount of times I've said this book has been amazing. There is no doubt that this  book deserves 10/10. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good fiction book. Also check out Carries other book All I Know Now. If you wish to read more of my blogs you can find them here laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com Leave a question in the comment box below or even follow my blog so you can stay updated on when I post next. Thank you for reading these posts, It means a lot!!

Book Review: Flash And Bones

Hey,
Before you start, I know this blog post has been a long time coming. Anyway it has been a while. Back to the blog post. This post is another famous Kathy Reichs book. The book is called Flash And Bones and this is the review lol about that book.
If you have read my other blog posts on Kathy Reichs books then you should know what is going to happen next and you could skip this part. But if your new to a Kathy Reichs book blog post. This is the part where I introduce the author Kathy Reichs to you the reader. So here we go, Kathy Reichs has many books to her name including Bones of the Lost, Bones are Forever and 206 Bones. Kathy Reichs is one of only eighty-two forensic anthropologists ever certified by the American Board of Forensic Anthropology. Kathy Reichs is a native of Chicago, where she received her Ph.D Kathy now spends most of her time between Charlotte, Northern Carolina and Montreal, Québec.
So you may start to ask tell us some more about the book. This is the part of my blog post where I go into more detail. Here is a small part from the blurb, the bit from the back of the book for any of you who don't know what the word blurb means. Let me begin "FLASH! illuminated by lightning, a lifeless human hand seems to reach from a barrel of asphalt beside the Charlotte racetrack. But before she can carry out a proper examination, the FBI mysteriously confiscate and destroy the body. It's a dead end." That is all you are getting because I don't want to spoil the story for you mega crime fiction readers out there.
This book is another example of why I love Kathy Reichs right now. At the beginning I wasn't too sure, but once I got into the book further and read more chapters. I realised how much I was enjoying the book as I was reading more than a few chapters a night. As I got to the end of each page, I wondered what was going to happen on the next page/chapter and I needed to know as quickly as possible. I loved it so much that I couldn't put it down. But once I finished the book I was sad to see that it had been finished. Even if Kathy Reichs puts her use of the Forensic language into her books. Kathy does her best to explain the term she used every time. Kathy also puts the title into the book every time. It fits into the sentences perfectly each time. Another job well done Kathy Reichs.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is a major crime fiction fan. I would totally give this book a solid 10/10 as I did not expect the ending that the book had. If you would like to read my other book blog posts, you can find them at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com Thank you for reading the post. If you wish to leave a comment/question. Leave it in the comment box below. Thanks again.

Book Review: Another Day

Hey,
Here we are again readers. Welcome if you are new here altogether. Just some background information for you. I write these book blog posts because I have a big passion to read as many books as I can. It's my favourite hobby. So I review them so I can share them with my audience members and get them reading too. This book blog post is all about David Levithan's Another Day.
Here is some information on the author David Levithan. That's if you want to know and read it ( if you don't you can skip this bit) David Levithan is a young adult fiction author and editor. He has many books to his name including Every Day, How They Meet and Other Stories and the name of his first book was Boy Meets Boy. Some of his books have been made into movies. David Levithan was born September 7, 1972. He lives in the United States of America. To finish off this bit of information here is a award that he has won Lambda Literary Award for Children's/Young Adult.
Many people like to read the back of a book before they buy or download it. Just to get the juices flowing here is a bit from the blurb, also known as the back of the book. "Every Day is the same for Rhiannon. She has convinced herself that she deserves her distant, moody boyfriend Justin. Then, out of the blue, they share a perfect day together. And that's when a stranger tells her that the Justin she spent that time with... wasn't Justin at all." There's a few sentences, I don't want to give anything big away. That just spoils it.
Dear readers this is my opinion of this book. It was the cover of the book that got my attention first. I'd never seen a cover like it before so I took a closer look and I read the last three sentences of the blurb. I knew then I had to get it. At first I didn't understand and connect with the first few chapters. But I kept on reading it and it started to grow on me. I found myself not putting the book down and needing to finish the chapter I was on. Sometimes I felt like I was in the book actually following their day to day lives. The ending has left me in great suspense as I want to know what is going to happen next. Great book, well done David Levithan.
I would totally recommend this book to all the young adult readers out there. Even the older readers who do love a good YA book. I would give this book a 7/10 it was good but could improve in some areas. If you wish to read the other book blog posts you can find them at laurennpullenreviews.blogspot.com Leave a comment or a question and I shall get back to you. You could also follow my blog so that you stay updated on every time I upload a new post. Thank you again for your support and reading these blog posts.

Book Review: The Sisters

Hey,
So here we are again, even if this is your first review of mine your reading or you have read them all. *High Five* Just a little apology as my last review was a little while ago. I just haven't had a chance to read this book as quickly as the last one. The book that is going to be reviewed in this blog post is, The Sisters by Claire Douglas. I hope you enjoy this book review, as much as I enjoyed reading the book itself.
To readers who have my reviews before you know what happens in this part of the review. New readers, this is the part where I introduce the author into the book blog post. I put all her/him details into this dedicated paragraph. So here we go Claire Douglas has worked as a journalist for fifteen years, writing features for women's magazines and newspapers. The Sisters is her first novel which won her the Marie Claire Debut Novel Award. Claire Douglas currently lives in Bath, England U.K with her husband and two children.
Now let me tell you a bit about the book without giving too much of the main story away. This book has three main characters Abi. Bea and Ben. Abi moves to Bath after the tragic loss of her twin sister is where she meets Bea and Ben. But as soon as she meets them strange things start to happen to Abi. Like her precious letters go missing and there are threatening messages being left in her room. So when the truth gets out, will either sister survive? There's a little bit from the story to get your thoughts racing.
The time has come to tell you my opinion of this book. First of all I think that Claire Douglas has done great as this is her first book. It was one of those books where you couldn't put it down. I kept getting to end of each page asking myself what is going to happen on the next page it kept me in suspense. I started to place how the ending was going to be like in my head if that makes sense. As I kept on reading I never expected the massive twist towards the end of the book. I could say I never saw it coming. Even if some of things I thought did come true. But once I came to the end of the book I didn't want it too end. I thought the ending had justice but there needed to be more.
Overall, I would give this book a good 8/10 and I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a good mystery and two be a reader in the older adult audience range. You may also like this book if you read The Girl On The Train. If you wish to read my other book blog posts they can be found at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com If you enjoy these posts follow me so you can stay updated every time I post a new one. Once again thank you for reading these posts. Leave a comment below and I will get back to you.

Book Review: Always With Love

Hey,
The reason why there is another blog post already, the weather. It has been raining constantly, so therefore cuddling up and reading a good book is the best way to spend that time. The book that this review is dedicated to is the new book, Always With Love by the lovely Giovanna Fletcher. People should know who this woman is.
Well if you are new here, this part of my blog. I will tell you a bit more about the author of the book. Giovanna was born in Essex which can be found in England, United Kingdom. Giovanna is also well known not just as an author as she is a actress, blogger, a vlogger and a presenter. She is married to Tom Fletcher who is well known as a member of McFly.  Giovanna has two sons Buzz and Buddy. According to her she spends to much time on her social media and talking about one of her favourite things Nutella. If you wish to follow Giovanna on her social media she can be found at @MrsGiFletcher on Twitter.
So this is the part of the book blog post where I describe the book without giving the story away. It is about Sophie May and her well known boyfriend Billy Buskin. But Billy has been missing his family as they are based in L.A. But when a option to be in a new movie comes up, Billy extends his trip leaving Sophie May to travel home alone. Who knows if their relationship will end with a happily ever after... So get reading it!!!
My opinion of this book, it was great, brilliant and fantastic. But before I get further into my opinion. Let me give you a heads up. You may want to read Giovanna's other books first. Especially Billy and Me and Christmas with Billy and Me which is a novella. Always With Love is the sequel to them. Giovanna's books are You're The One that I Want and Dream a Little Dream also there is another short novella. Back to my opinion. I couldn't put this book down just like the others. I finished this one in two days. This book is so up your street if you like the romantic side and maybe a little happy cry ( even if there is such a thing) I really like the way Giovanna writes her books and characters as you can easily imagine yourself in the books. Especially when your name is in one of them. Can't wait for the next one Giovanna!!! This book definitely needs another book to carry on the story.
Overall the book needs a 10/10. Even a five stars out of five rating. I totally recommend this book to anyone who loves a good read. I'm so glad that this book has got the number one spot on the book charts. It totally deserves it. You can have a read of my other blogs at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com and if you enjoy them please follow me, leave a comment or a question. I will then reply. Thank you for reading these book blog posts!!!

Book Review: Seizure

Hey,
Welcome to another book blog post from me. Even if you are a new reader of these posts you couldn't pick a better review to start on. With all the recent sunny weather we've been having, I have finished another great book. This review is all about the book Seizure. This book has been written by Kathy Reichs (told you it wasn't my last one on her)
If you have read my previous book blog posts, you should know a bit about the author Kathy Reichs already. But if your new here. Here is a bit about my favourite crime fiction author at the moment. Kathy Reichs has written many books. Just to name some Devil Bones, Grave Secrets and Déjà Dead. But this book is part of her YA books (Young Adult). Kathy is one of only eighty-two forensic anthropologists ever certified by the American Board of Forensic Anthropology. Kathy Reichs is a native of Chicago, where she received her Ph.D at Northwestern. Now she spends most of her time between Charlotte NC and Montreal Québec. Which can be found in U.S.A and Canada.
If you are planning on reading this book after reading this review. I will suggest you read Virals first as it makes sense to read the first book in a series first. But to get you hooked onto the series. Here is a few sentences from the blurb which can be located on the back of the book. "The Virals' home on Loggerhead Island is under threat, rumour has it that a notorious pirate his her treasure in Charleston in 1720. No one knows where." That is just some of the blurb as I don't want to give to much of the story away. Especially if you haven't read the first book.
After reading the first book I just had to read the second one and hopefully I will will carry on reading the entire series. My opinion of this book is that it is a great book to read. I was gripped from the very first page even though there was a prologue. Which keeps you in suspense. When I was reading this book I could hardly put it down as I needed to know what was going to happen to the characters next. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Overall this book gets 9/10 from me. I would recommend this book to the younger adults and up. Some parents may want to read this book to their kids as it's packed full of adventure. It also may attract people who like reading mystery and some crime fiction. If you liked what you read in this book blog post. You can find all my other blog posts at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com Feel free to comment any questions or recommendations in the comment box below and shall answer the questions that are posted. Thank you for reading these book blog posts. You are the best!!

Book Review: Faceless

Hey,
So here we are again, another book has been finished. This book is definitely a eye-opener. You all should know this by now, but if your new here the name of the book is the title of the blog post. The books name is Faceless. This book is written by a woman called Alyssa Sheinmel.
If you are new here, let me start this part by saying. Welcome to my blogs. This is the part of the blog, where I write about the author of the book I'm reviewing. So here is a bit about the author. Alyssa Sheinmel has written many books which are Second Star, The Beautiful Between, The Lucky Kind and The Stone Girl. After reading this book I may end up reading one of these. Alyssa grew up in Northern California and New York. But she currently lives and writes in New York U.S.A If you use social media you can follow Alyssa on Twitter at @AlyssaSheinmel.
Now you have read something about the author. Let me tell you a bit about the book Faceless. I'm going to take some of the blurb, also known as the bit from the back cover and put it into this blog review. Here we go "Maisie is burnt in a terrible accident, her face is partially destroyed. She's lucky enough to get a face transplant." I'm not going to say any more as I don't want to spoil the story. But some of you might have already read the book. So you may know what happens to Maisie.
My Opinion of this book, it's so good that I hardly can put it into words for you to read. From the moment I opened this book I knew it was going to be good. It got so good that I didn't want to put it down, I needed to finish it. So I could tell more people about it. I hardly put it down. I also liked the way Alyssa and her team structured the book Faceless as many authors just make one long structured book and you don't know where you are or what day you are on with this you definitely can. I also enjoyed how Alyssa based the majority of the book on the theme "LUCK." Because many people don't realise what they have until it has gone. The characters were also very well written as whenever they were written about you could always imagine what they sound and looked like inside your head.
Overall this book does deserves the 10/10 or even the five stars that I'm going to give it. I think the story might be based on a true story which makes it more thrilling. I would recommend this to the older teens and up as there are many strong words put in throughout the book and younger readers shouldn't be reading that kind of thing. If you enjoyed reading this blog post on this book. Then you can find and read my other blogs at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com. Book Review: Déjà Dead

Hey,
So we meet again. I've finished yet again another book. From reading the title you can already guess the name of the book. So of course the book I'm reviewing is going to be Déjà Dead by Kathy Reichs. If you haven't read my other blog about Kathy Reichs book, you know that there is going to be a lot of these.
If you haven't read the other blog let me tell you a bit about the author Kathy Reichs. This book Déja Dead catapulted her to fame, as it became a New York Times bestseller and won the 1997 Ellis Award for best first novel. Kathy Reichs is one of only eighty-two forensic anthropologists ever certified by the American Board of Forensic Anthropology. Kathy Reichs is a native of Chicago, where she received her Ph.D at Northwestern. She now spends most of her time between Charlotte, NC and Montreal, Québec which is located in United States of America and Canada.
If this is your first time ever reading a Kathy Reichs blog, let me share with you some of the background story of the book. Some people may just read the blurb. Which is where this next part is coming from. Here we go "Dr Temperance Brennan, Director of forensic Anthropology for the province of Québec, has been researching recent disappearances in the city. Soon she is convinced that a serial killer is at work" If those couple of sentences don't grab you, I don't know what will.
My overall opinion of these Kathy Reichs books is that Kathy is a excellent writer as many of her books have won numerous awards. This book is one of those books you can't put down, you just have to keep reading as you want to know what happens. Not just in the end but on every page I read. The storyline also kept you engaged. Kathy Reichs may be a forensic anthropologist as she uses many of the big words that they use in their line of work. But she also does her best in explaining what they mean. Which many readers will like as they want to learn this information. This won't be the last Kathy Reichs book I read.
So I would give this book a solid 10/10. If you like adventure and crime fiction this is the book or books for you. I would recommend this book to the older readers. As there are many strong words and references, that younger readers wouldn't understand. If you would like to read my other blogs they can be found at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com Any questions or recommendations please leave them in the comment box below. Thank you for reading thes blogs.

Book Review: Book Of Lies

Hey,
A new review, another book has been finished. Thankfully it has been really sunny. So I had a excuse to sit outside and read. Book Of Lies is this weeks book that is under review. Book Of Lies is written by Teri Terry. What a great author she is.
Teri Terry is really good at what she does and that is writing if you hadn't guessed. Let me give you some information about the author Teri Terry. Teri Terry has lived in  numerous amount of places including France, Canada, Australia and she currently lives in Buckinghamshire Chilterns that is located in England in the UK. For those of you who don't know. Teri Terry has also had many careers including Scientist, Lawyer and Optometrist. The author Teri Terry has won twelve awards. Awards like Leeds Book Award, The North East Teen Book Award and the Rotherham Children's Book Award (twice).
So now you know more about the author Teri Terry. Let me tell you more about the book by sharing some of the blurb with you readers. "Quinn and Piper are twins, but they've never met. A tragic event brings them together, and draws them into a family curse that stretches across centuries". But it's not all as it seems as "lies become truth and truth looks likes lies, who can you believe?" If that doesn't draw you in, I don't know what will.
Before I give you my final opinion of Teri Terry's other books like the SLATED trilogy or even Mind Games. You need to read them. So like all the other Teri Terry books I have read, this one was just as great as the others. This is a book that I needed to keep reading and I couldn't put it down as I needed to know what happened on each page. As the plot of the story progressed it got more creepy. The twin part just reminded me of a favourite film "The Parent Trap" but with a darker twist, which made this book more interesting, especially with the amount of plot twists. The way that Teri Terry writes about each twin Piper and Quinn also makes the book very addicting. I think where the book ended, it has plenty of room for there too be a second book even more. I can't wait for what Teri Terry writes next.
Finally I would recommend this book to everyone, even if you haven't read the other Teri Terry's books. This book was so good that I would give it a solid 10/10. It is even suitable for the younger reader. Especially if you like mystery and adventure. You can find all my other reviews at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.com if you have any questions please leave them in the comment box below or even recommendations of other books you want me to read. Again thank you for reading these posts.

Book Review: Speaking In Bones

Hey,
What's a better way to finish the week by finishing a book and writing about it. So this review is all about the book Speaking In Bones as you can tell by reading the title. Speaking In Bones is written by Kathy Reichs. Let me tell you this won't be the only review of a Kathy Reichs book as I love her books.
So Kathy Reichs lives in the United States of America ( U.S.A) Where she divides her time between Charlotte North Carolina, Montreal and Québec to be exact. Kathy Reichs is a a professor in the Anthropology Department at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Seventeen books that Kathy Reichs has written are featured on Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling lists. They feature forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan. Kathy Reichs also is a forensic anthropologist so she is able to base her books on similar cases she has once dealt with.
Now you know a bit more about the author, Kathy Reichs. Let me share more information about the book with you. (This review is part of the Temperance Brennan series but not in the right order) Here we go, a bit from the blurb. Dr Tempe Brennan is approached by amateur detective Hazel Strike. This woman claims that she's matched unidentified set of remains with a name. A terrified young woman echoes around her office from a audio recorder found near where the bones were discovered. As Tempe investigates further she finds out that this case is more horrifying than she first thought.
My overall opinion of this book is the same as all the Kathy Reichs books I have read. I loved it, in other words I couldn't put it down I had to keep reading, as I needed to know what was going to happen next. The way Kathy Reichs writes her books she supplies you with a lot of information. Some pieces of information you would never know. As she is a forensic anthropologist she uses many of the big words that anthropologists use, which takes time to get used to and to also understand. But she does her best to explain them in the book. Kathy Reichs is also great in writing characters and how she fits them into any story.
To finish off this book review I would give this book a good recommendation to all readers that love a good read. Especially if that includes crime fiction. It was so good that I would give this book a solid 10/10. But this book may be unsuitable for younger readers so only read it if your 18 and above. You can find all my other reviews at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.co.uk or just leave a question in the comments below. Thanks for reading.

Book Review: Crazy Love You

Hey,
So here we are again, another great book has been finished. You can already guess the title of the book as it is the title of the review. So this book, I'm reviewing is Crazy Love You by Lisa Unger.
Let me tell you a bit about the author of the book. Lisa Unger has sold more than 1.7 million copies of her books. They have been sold in twenty-six different languages. So therefore these books have been nominated and won many awards. Lisa Unger lives in Florida. Which is located in the United States of America (U.S.A)
For you to get a taste of the book I'm going to tell you some of the blurb (this can be found on the back of the book) So this book is based around Ian and Priss who are best friends since they were children. But it's not all as it seems. As bad stuff always occur when Priss is around, this includes fires starting and people start to die. Ian wants to get away from this. But it's not what Priss wants as the changes make her mor angry. But will this make things worse. To quote from the book "sometimes your best friend can be your worst enemy..."
When I first looked at the cover I knew I had to read this book the way it has the creepy silhouette on the cover just drew me in even more. ( still not judging books by their cover) I would like to know people's opinions on a prologue. I think sometimes it kind of spoils the story a bit, but it does get you interested into the book. So it has its pros and cons.
My Overall take on this book, it was very thrilling with each page. I couldn't put the book down. You never know what goes on in the inside of somebody's mind when they are suffering with addiction. It was great to read and find out about that. As I turned each page I didn't know what was going to happen next including that great twist on the characters. Once I finished the end, I wished it wasn't over as I wanted to know what was going to happen next in their gripping life of events. I won't be forgetting this story anytime soon.
This book was a great book to read, but throughout the book there are some very strong themes which is why I would recommend this book to anyone sixteen and over as they fully understand by this age. I would rate this book at a solid 8/10. If you wish to read my other reviews you can find them at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.co.uk Any questions you have or any recommendations on books to read in the future, please leave them in the comment box below.

Book Review: The hand that feeds you!!

Hey,
I've finished yet again, another book. You can already tell the name of this book, by looking at the title. This review is all about the crime fiction book, The hand that feeds you by A.J. Rich.
The author of this is not just one person as we normally would think, it's two people. A.J. Rich is a pseudonym. This means that A.J. Rich is a fictitious name, made up by the two authors. So the actual authors are Amy Hempel and Jill Ciment they both have written other books of their own. They both live in the United States of America.
Now let me tell you bit about the book from the blurb. It is about a couple called Morgan and Bennett (yes Morgan can be a girls name too). But it's not all as it seems. I won't give to much away because I don't want to spoil it for you in case you wanted to read it. Morgan returns home one day from class as she is completing her thesis on victim psychology, to find Bennett savagely killed. If that doesn't draw you in, I don't know what will. But here is a bit mor anyway. But when she tries to locate Bennett's family, only then does she begins to discover layer after layer of deceit.
What drew me to this book was the cover, but I never judge on the cover like they always say. It's the open door you just ant to know what is behind it. ( I think this cover is the UK version only). Once I started to read it I couldn't put it down the storyline of the book is so gripping. There are many topics throughout the book. Some of these topics you wouldn't want to read and you don't want them happening to you. There is strong language throughout the book. So this book is not for younger readers, I would recommend this book to anyone 18 and above. My favourite out of the characters has to be Morgan as she and I share a big passion for dogs and would do anything for them. I'm glad that she got what she wanted in the end.
Overall this was a good book to read, it even made me cry at one point. Anyone who loves a good crime fiction book should read this one. I would give this book a good 8/10. If you would like to read my other reviews they can be found at laurennpullennreviews.blogspot.co.uk Any questions or recommendations of other books leave them in the comment box below.

Book Review: Landline

Hey,
So a new day, another great book to read. This review is about the book Landline by Rainbow Rowell.
Let me tell you a bit about the author Rainbow Rowell, she currently lives in Omaha, Nebraska which is located in the the U.S.A (America). Rainbow lives there with her husband and her two sons. Rainbow has written other books such as Fangirl, Eleanor+Park and Attachments. Have you read any of her other books?
I'm now going to share a little bit about the story with you. See if you enjoy it, maybe then you might read the entire book. Here is a bit from the blurb also know as the small passage on the back of the book. Georgie McCool, who is the main character is trying to make things right with her husband, Neal. Georgie uses her old landline, but this landline connects Georgie to the past. Georgie uses the landline to fix things in the past that seem "unfixable in the present". Is it another chance to start things over. "Would you give your past self any advice and would you listen to it"?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book so much. I read this book because I have read the other Rainbow Rowell books, which I also love. As well as the other books the storyline was very unique from other books and not your typical rom-com teenage book. I enjoyed this book so much that once I picked it up I couldn't put it down. All the characters were well written. Especially Georgie McCool I wanted everything to be okay for her in the end as she was a very loveable character. I highly recommend this book to anyone, although there are a few TV series spoilers if you haven't watched them and planning on watching them in the future. I would give Rainbow Rowell's book a 10/10.
